Hot Japanese Guys (1) HYDE

I would totally marry this man, if he weren't already married to Megumi Oishi (Megumi, you lucky bitch!!) and he didn't have a child with her. Haha, I'd like to see them side by side, considering she's so much taller than him :) ohh, but since I'm about the same height with her, then I wouldn't match with him either! :((( But enough with the crazy fan talk!

Wait, I'm not finished yet! I still haven't said how much I'd like to huuuug him and touch his hair and then hug him again and then kiss him and then push him down and then RAPE HIM! Oooops, I've said too much. Yup.

Oh well, for those who don't know, Hyde is best known as the vocalist of L'Arc en Ciel. He also has some very good albums solo, such as Roentgen or Faith. Oh, and he's also the vocalist of VAMPS, which I cannot stand even though I like Hyde so much, because of that ugly and annoying K.A.Z who's playing the guitar;btw, has anybody noticed how Hyde's hair is always fluffier when he's with VAMPS?

I think Hyde is at his best with L'Arc, because there you can truly feel the atmosphere of friendship between them; I love how they like to joke around and they're all funny in their own way. Actually, Hyde is the least funny of them. Now imagine that in VAMPS Hyde is the 'entertainer' when on interviews or making ofs, while KAZ is just sitting there like a zombie, and you'll understand why I find VAMPS boring. I must admit tho that some songs are really good and the live performances are really energetic (HYDE screams a lot and I sometimes thinks he sounds a lot like a Japanese Kurt Cobain).

This man is really attractive to both women and men! For example, Yasu of Janne Da Arc admitted to like him (well, maybe not in THAT way, but he says that he can recognize and admire something beautiful - referring to Hyde). Gackt also 'felt the urge' to kiss Hyde, seeing him asleep on the sets of Moonchild (a movie in which they starred together) and this is what GACKT wrote in his autobiography:

<<Right now, I don't have anyone I can call a "girlfriend." Of course, there are people that I love. I often think "I really like this person" or "I love this person." However, these feelings are spur of the moment. It doesn't matter whether the person is a man or a woman. Take Hyde, for example. When I'm with him, I always think "Wow, this guy is so amazing." That's also love, or feelings very close to love. That smile is a sin. Since I first met him, I have thought that it would be great if Hyde was a girl. But dammit, he's a man! If he was a girl, I would probably fall for him. I really go for types like him. No matter what they say, I'll listen. If he or she said "Come here now," I'd leave work and go. The type of girl that I look for is gentle type like Hyde. If there was a girl like him, I think I would fall for her.>>

Uhh, right now I'm imagining how it would be to see Hyde asleep! *blush* Yup, I think I understand how Gackt felt :D

Here are some pics of HYDE:

...and the best thing is the fact that his singing voice is even greater than his looks!

HONEY man :)) I soooo wanna touch his back!!!

Nodame Cantabile - the live drama

I've just finished the last episode, so the impression is fresh. The characters, the musical pieces, the romance, the comedy are truly enjoyable, not only for classical music lovers, but for anyone who wants to see a cute and funny story of love, friendship and self-development.

I might have enjoyed it even more because I'm a student of a Music Conservatory myself, just like the main characters, so I kinda know how it is from the inside.

The actress portraying Nodame is doing a great job and I admit that the guy playing Chiaki is hot, though not really my type.

And of course, I shouldn't forget the old man playing Franz Strezemann, he was my favourite. I loved his weird 'foreign' accent, especially when he said 'Ganbatte kudasai', stressing the first syllable of 'kudasai' in a really funny way. Also, the swarthy face and the silver curls made such a funny contrast, that they turned him into the most ugly thing I have ever seen, lol, but funny at the same time. Also, loved how poor Chiaki was chased by gay guys infatuated with him :))
I I watched some episodes from the anime series too, but dropped it at the fourth or fifth. They were good, but I believe the live action is better.

Here is a summary of the PLOT, according to dramawiki:

Based on the hit comic book by Tomoko Ninomiya, this is a fun-filled quirky romantic story of two very opposite people.

Megumi Noda, or "Nodame" is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a kindergarten teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend’s lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.
Shinichi Chiaki, is Momogaoka’s top student. Born into a musical family, he is talented in piano and violin and has secret ambitions to become a conductor. An arrogant multi-lingual perfectionist who once lived abroad in the music capitals of the world as a young boy, he feels mired in Japan because of a childhood phobia.
They meet by accident. Nodame quickly falls in love, but it takes much longer for Chiaki to even begin to appreciate Nodame’s unusual qualities. Their relationship causes them both to develop and grow. Because of Nodame, Chiaki got the opportunity to lead a student orchestra and begins to have a broader appreciation of people's musical abilities. Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition. Opportunities open up as both begin taking risks, stretching themselves far more than they ever thought possible.
The main CAST

This is one of the most anime-ish drama I've watched until now. It was funny how Nodame was constantly hit in such an anime-like manner, or how Stresemann 'jumped off the plane'. Moreover, it can be also educative. The music pieces are very well chosen and there were some of them which I had never listened to before. Definitely worth watching!

I'll leave you with this original rendition of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue (the S-Oke was a cool and unusual orchestra!) and later I'm gonna watch the two special episodes.

Monster - anime review

I heard of this anime accidentally, watching a Monster AMV on youtube. It seemed too bloody for me, as I don't like violence. However, a few weeks later I decided to give it a try, because the name was often mentioned in forum discussions as an anime with good plot and outstanding characters.

I loved it from the very first episode. Some might say that it's slow paced, but I enjoyed every single second of this series; even the episodic characters were well drawn and they make the viewer care for them, even if they appear for a short time. I found myself shedding tears not just once during this superb series, this is how good it is.

The violent scenes are bearable, it's not what they show that it's disturbing, but the things you can guess! For me, one of the most disturbing scenes was when a little kid squashed a butterfly with his foot, after being influenced by Johann; I know, it might seem weird, but you will understand if you watch. The 'nameless monster' story is scary like hell! I always hated watching the ending, because of the images; they're purely creepy.

Tenma is the kinda of guy I would definitely marry: kind, honest, skilled and determined :) Johann, on the other hand, is simply fascinating - the kind of villain you can't stop but admire while trembling with fear at his sight. I kinda think of him as a snake who hypnotizes his victims.

JOHANN:

Iwish it had just a little bit more romance, but the characters were too determined to reach their goals, so they had no time for this kinda of things.

The only problem is that after watching this, my interest in anime decreased, because I wasn't able to find something to match up with it.

This is absolutely worth watching. It's anime risen to the level of pure art. You'll be hooked by it, just like me, (I watched all 74 episodes during my examination session, instead of studying, lol), unless you're not matured enough to handle a good psychological story, in which case I suggest you go back to Naruto and stay there.

NINA, Johann's sister, the main female character:

PLOT: The main character is Dr. Kenzo Tenma, a neurosurgeon who works for a prestigious hospital in Germany. One day, after he sees how a woman cried for her man who died because someone else got more priority he decides he wouldn't let anyone pass because lives of people are equal. But his life changes when a pair of twins, boy and girl are brought to the hospital after their parents were brutally murdered. Dr. Tenma was first assigned to operate the boy but when the mayor was also rushed to the hospital, he was instructed by the Director to take charge of the Mayor’s operation. He refused to follow the orders and went on with the boy’s operation. Due to this incident, he was demoted and his girlfriend, Eva Heinemann who was the daughter of the Director broke up with him. Later on, the Director along with two other doctors were mysteriously murdered. This raised Dr. Tenma’s status in the hospital but eventually he became the prime suspect for this murder along with other murders that occurred in the city. His life was completely messed up and an inspector from BKA became obsessed about his case and was out to capture him.
To clear his name and to correct his past mistake, Tenma must get to the bottom of these and other murders, and investigate the truth of the Monster who is behind all of this. And also, it seems that the boy he saved was much more than he seemed.

Animation by Madhouse, music by Kuniaki Haishima, original story by Naoki Urasawa

Monster's OPENING

Both the anime and the manga begin with a passage from The Revelation of St. John the Divine, Chapter 13: Verses 1 & 4
And I saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads, the names of blasphemy. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, "Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"

The quote is often interpreted as the coming of the Antichrist. This quote is used because of the many parallels and comparisons between one of the main characters of Monster (Johan) and two candidates of the Antichrist as predicted by Nostradamus.

This is for 'Hello'

This is my first blog in English, I used to have one in my native language (which is Romanian), but I decided that it was time for something else.

I'm going to write here not much of my personal weird experiences, like I used to, but share the love for Japanese music, anime and dramas which I just recently discovered, given the fact that a few months ago I had this preconceived idea that Asians were totally uncool - I wasn't even able to watch asian movies because I couldn't stand the languages and their looks!

However, this has absolutely changed, and now I know how terribly wrong I was.
This is why I started a blog in which I will keep track of what J-bands I discover, what J-dramas and animes I watch, my progress in learning Japanese and stuff like that. Everybody's welcome to leave comments and recommendations!
